Digital Document Processes In 2020: A Spotlight On E-Signature

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed how and where we work. Businesses have had to respond quickly to adapt to remote workforces, virtual interactions and digital interchanges. To understand how digital document processes are supporting business resilience during the pandemic, Adobe recently commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a global survey, 'How Digital Document Processes Are Shifting From Best Practice To Business Necessity'.
In the wake of the global pandemic, in-person interactions have been replaced by virtual interactions almost entirely. When a document needs a signature or approval, the interaction now needs to be digital. The research shows that the pandemic has emphasized the importance of digital document processes and specifically, e-signatures. E-signature are showing accelerated adoption across every surveyed industry, region and company size. In fact, 60% of business and technology leaders say that e-signatures are a critical requirement in supporting their organizations' business continuity and agility. This will last well beyond the pandemic as customers and employees expect more digital alternatives, shifting e-signatures from a 'best practice' to a 'business necessity'.
